Finalist Poster - English Wedding Awards 2016

Hello and Welcome!

I’m Sarah and I’m really excited to meet you

I started my career in hair and makeup for film and theatre. I now combine these skills with my passion for vintage styling. I love styling natural boho looks through to recreating the beauty and glamour of a bygone era. Whether you want a natural look for your wedding, a vintage hen-do or a glamorous night out,  I’m here to help you achieve the look you’re after.

You’ve seen my work and now you’ve come to find out a little bit more about ME! (If you haven’t seen it you can check out my portfolio here)

You would think that as a hair stylist and a makeup artist that it wouldn’t matter too much who I was or what I was like, as long as my work is super awesome, creative and beautiful! Right?!  But I don’t think thats true at all. Of course you have got to like my work. That’s what brought you to my site in the first place and why you’ve stuck around to read this. But it’s just as important that you like me.  If you choose me to be a part of your special day, I’ll be there sharing the morning of your wedding with you, along with your closest friends and family.  I’m there for the tears (of joy), the laughter and that one magic moment that happens to every bride when they realise that it’s not just any normal day but it’s THE DAY! I love it and I love my job.  I still find it so humbling and feel so honoured to get to share these moments. Don’t get me wrong I have seen my share of crazy too! There are mornings where I have gone above and beyond to make sure the bride makes it down the aisle in one piece but I see that as part of the job. I’m not just the hair & makeup artist, the job roles I can now add to the resume (in a completely unofficial capacity of course!) include counsellor, dress fitter, corset lacer, emergency beautician (ie leg shaver – you know who you are 😉) organiser of bridesmaids, bouquet holding instructor, corsage pinner, emergency dress fixer, fan holder the list could go on. This is your one and only wedding day and it can sometimes all get a little daunting. Just remember I live it and breathe it every week and I am there to help.

“I cannot thank you enough for all your help on the big day and in the lead up too! You and [your assistant] both did a fantastic job and we all felt so gorgeous!!! The day itself was just incredible – I don’t think I’ve ever been that happy in all my life!!” – Hannah

So what got to me this point?
I always wanted to be a hair & makeup artist, except that was always a job I thought someone else could have but not me. I got caught up in academia. I studied chemistry at university and then went on to train to be an accountant because that’s what I thought was expected. Until one day my sister came to stay and on a night out with me and my accountant friends she turned round and said ‘did I realise that all we had talked about was excel spreadsheets?’  At that point I knew something had to change!!! Although I still have a strong (now secret) love of the excel spreadsheet I am much happier living out my childhood dream.
I now live near Stourbridge with my gameing obsessed, love of my life Dave, little dog Frou, and our cat Tora (who also likes to come on walks with the rest of our little gang!). Me & Dave met nearly 15 years ago but have no plans to get hitched and kids are definitely not on the agenda.  I am a foodie with a shocking weakness for cake and this, I fear, will be a life long battle! Oh … and I also like to get my geek on with all things Harry Potter.

AS FEATURED ON …
