FAQ

What is your hair & makeup style?

HAIR: I can turn my hand to just about any type of style so whether you are after something that is very modern, a vintage/retro twist on a modern style or you want to completely recreate a period look right down to the very last detail, I am here to help. So no matter who you have in your bridal party I will be able create a style that is perfect for them.

MAKEUP: I like creating all types of makeup styles from barely there to a dramatic smokey eye but more than anything I love making skin look like skin.

Do I have to book you for both hair & makeup?

Not at all! You can book an ‘all hair’ or ‘all makeup’ package or you can even mix and match between your bridal party.

How quickly do you get booked up?

If you’ve got your heart set on me being to work with you on your date then please get in touch asap. Most of my enquires are between 6months – 1year ahead of time but I do start to get enquiries from 2 years in advance but often still have some dates available right up until the last moment, so don’t be put off enquiring last minute (I also know a whole network of artists, so even if I’m not available I can help you find someone who is. Win win!)

I’m struggling for inspiration, can you send me some pictures?

There are lots of pictures of my past brides and from photoshoots on my website and instagram so please feel free to have a look through those for some inspiration. If you are still struggling I suggest Pinterest is a great place to start: I’ve set up some boards to get you started.

What makeup products do you use?

I do not promote any particular brand which means that I will only use the products that I believe are the best at doing the job.  Most of my products are premium brands, a few are cheaper but, don’t worry, they will all be great at what they do.

Brands include
  • MAC
  • Paul & Joe Beaute
  • Bobbi Brown
  • Estee Lauder
  • Illamasqua
  • Charlotte Tilbury
  • Urban Decay
  • Danessa Myricks
  • Yves Saint Laurent
  • Benefit
  • and many more.
I am a member of
  • Mac Pro
  • Charlotte Tilbury Pro
  • Illamasqua Pro

I bring everything with me from a full hair &/or makeup kit, lighting, chairs and extension cables. So all you need to do is sit back and relax.

Do you offer airbrushing?

No, I don’t currently offer airbrushed makeup application. But I am happy to recommend a specialist bridal airbrush artist, who I work closely with.

I’m thinking about getting hair extensions, do you have any advice?

I don’t fit any of the permanent types of extensions but I am happy to work with all types of hair extensions, clip-ins, sewn-in, glue bonded, micro bonds etc. The best type to go for will depend on what style you want. I am going to be doing some detailed help sheets/blog on this very topic but in the mean time if you need advice just get in touch, I am here to help.

Where are you based?

I am based in Belbroughton (near Stourbridge and Birmingham) but I am completely mobile, so I come to you (for the trial and the wedding day). I mostly work in the West Midland, Warwickshire and Worcestershire areas but travel nationwide on request.

What are your travel charges?

Travel is charged at £0.50 (to £0.85) per mile from Belbroughton (plus any tolls/congestion charges/parking fees that may apply). There may be a minimum booking amount for bookings over 15 miles. But don’t worry, just get in touch and I can work it all out for you.

How much are your services?

You can see details of all my services here but if you can’t see exactly what you are after you can contact me for a bespoke quote. There maybe a minimum booking amount for bookings during peak season.

What are your booking T&Cs / cancellation policy?

My terms & conditions, along with my cancellation policy, are sent out with every quote. Please contact me if you would like me to send you a copy. By paying a booking fee you are agreeing to the terms & conditions.

Are you insured?

Yes, I am fully insured by ABT.

I want to book, what happens next?

Well aren’t you lovely!

If I haven’t sent you a quote then get in touch, via the bridal booking form, and let me know your date and what services you are after and I will get one out to you.

Once I have sent you a quote, you’ve had a look through it and want to go ahead with the booking I will send you the details on how to pay the booking fee (usually £50) which is redeemable against the final balance. Once that’s received, your date is secure and I will send you out details about how to book in for your trial. Exciting times!

What payment methods do you accept?

The booking fee is usually paid by bank transfer but for balancing payments I can accept cash, bank transfer and debit and credit card payments.

What happens at the trial?

A trial will usually take place at your home, or other chosen location. Depending on whether you have booked for hair &/or makeup your trial will last approximately 1.5hrs / 3hrs. During this time we will discuss all the aspects of your day, including your dress, colour themes, flowers, bridesmaids, hair accessories and veils. From this we can discuss some looks that will compliment the rest of your day perfectly, taking into account any reference pictures you have collected. It’s important that you feel like you but on a good day rather than a completely different person, so we will also discuss how your usually wear your hair and makeup and take that into account.

Once we have created your perfect look I will take lots of photos and make note of the products used so I can recreate your look on your wedding day. For hair trials it is useful to have any hair accessories and veils with you. I send out more details on how to prepare for your trial when you book.

What happens on the day?

I will arrive at your venue or other chosen location in plenty of time so we can get started at the time agreed. If there is quite a few of you in your booking I will also send you a detailed schedule of timings, which will help you organise your bridal party. I usually suggest that hair & makeup is completed about an hour before you are due to leave. This allows some buffer time, time for you to get into your dress and to relax. We may need to allow extra time if your photographer wants to take photographs before you leave.

I’m stuck finding ‘X’ for my wedding, can you recommend suppliers?

Yes! I live and breathe weddings all year round and I get to meet so many other talented suppliers. So whatever or whoever you need for your wedding day chances are I know someone who will be able to help. I have started a recommended supplier list but I have many more names to add! You also must check out the EWE wedding encyclopaedia – jam packed with eclectic awesome suppliers.

I want an appointment at one of your pop-up parlours, how do I find out prices and book?

Keep an eye on both my Facebook and Instagram as I will post about what vintage fairs I will be attending. You can see prices and general booking information here. And you can email me / DM me / fill out a contact form to book and I will get back to you with availability. Don’t forget to mention which fair you want to attend.
